Operation Darwen

Campaign: All Wales Motorcycle Campaign

Launch Date: Monday 20th March 2017

An all Wales campaign aimed at reducing the risk of motorcycle-related deaths and serious injuries on the roads is underway.

Operation Darwen runs from early Spring through until the Autumn. As the weather improves we typically start to see an increase in motorcyclists on the roads and our officers are now carrying out high visibility motorcycle patrols targeting those who ride in an anti-social manner and commit traffic offences.

As well as prosecuting offenders we will be educating and encourage riders to take further training to make themselves safer on the roads.

Officers are also urging bikers to ensure their machines are roadworthy and safe to ride in order to reduce the risk of them, and other road users, being involved in a serious or fatal collision.
