At approximately 13.30pm on Saturday 6th July 2019, officers were called to the scene of a road traffic collision on the Ebbw Vale bypass (A4046) in Cwm. The collision involved three vehicles, a red Suzuki Swift, a silver Ford Fiesta and a silver Hyundai IX35.
The passenger of the Suzuki Swift, was taken to the University Of Wales Hospital, where she later (Sunday 7th July) died. She can now be named as 65 year old Shirley Culleton from the Cwmbran area.
The driver of the Suzuki Swift, a 67 year old man from the Cwmbran area sustained serious injuries and was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the Silver Ford Fiesta, a 69 year old man from the Blaina area sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Silver Hyudai, a 51 year old man from the Tredegar area was taken to Prince Charles Hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.
Officers are asking that any motorists using the road between 13.15pm and 13.30pm on Saturday 6th July, to please check any dash cam footage that may provide further information that will assist officers with their enquiries.
