Robbery – Marshfield Road, Castleton

We are appealing for information following a robbery in the Marshfield Road area of Castleton, which saw a motorist assaulted and his car stolen.

The offence took place at approximately 1.10pm on Sunday, 7th July 2019, when the male victim was delivering parcels from his black BMW vehicle.

He was approached by an unknown man who pushed him to the ground, before getting into the victim’s car. A struggle then followed through the driver’s window, resulting in the suspect driving off at speed, and the victim falling back to the ground. He suffered minor injuries to his arms and legs.

A number of parcels and two mobile phones were in the car when it was stolen. The abandoned car has since been recovered in the South Wales Police area and enquiries are ongoing. Officers are appealing for help to trace the man responsible.

He is described as white, in his late 20s, of slim build, with dark hair, wearing a dark t-shirt and sunglasses. A white van was seen in the local area in the lead-up to the incident, and may have been linked.
