Update: New Tredegar Rugby Club – deceased man named

The 40 year old man who was pronounced deceased after an incident at New Tredegar Rugby Club on Saturday 6th July can now be named as 40 year old Kerry Morgan from the New Tredegar area.

His family have released this tribute and photo:

“We are heartbroken, he was our life and the love of my life. He was the most wonderful, kind and loving husband and father. He was the best dada in the world. He will be with us every day, always in our hearts and missed dearly. We love you to infinity.”

Officers were called to a report of an altercation at New Tredegar Rugby Club at about 11.45pm on Saturday.

On arrival, officers found Mr Morgan unconscious and not breathing. Officers performed CPR at the scene, however he was shortly after pronounced deceased.

Two men, from the Caerphilly area, aged 41 and 61 who were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder have since been released under investigation.
